Solar Energy on New Surfaces with PI Energy

We expect that PI Energy’s technology will change the way people think of where solar energy can be installed. On the left is a traditional solar PV panel mounted on a metal pole to power irrigation equipment.

PI Energy’s technology under development will allow for direct placement of the conformally-wrapping PV modules onto the equipment, a far more cost-effective approach. This way, the metal pole, rack, mounting hardware, and extra wiring become unnecessary costs. There are vast amounts of equipment, used in telecommunications, lighting and irrigation around the world, that need remote power solutions. We are excited about this opportunity, as surface-integrated solar on to equipment, devices, vehicles and buildings can be far more efficient and cost-effective.
