Pilot Development Plan

We want to take the opportunity to address a frequent question that we have been asked: What is your pilot deployment plan? This is an important topic, since it is our next step towards commercialization.

Our team has spoken with many potential customers across a range of markets and has crafted a commercialization strategy that is compatible with our technology path, capital efficient, and enables us to scale up to deploy into large markets.

As we advance our technology development, our team is preparing to demonstrate our materials’ performance to future commercialization partners (companies that would partner with PI Energy in the future to commercially deploy our technology). The first phase is a device demonstration at our facilities, and the second phase involves signing an agreement to install a pilot demonstration for a particular market segment.

Our current requirements for initial pilot installations are:

  1. Addressing a market segment opportunity where PI Energy’s technology can uniquely provide clear advantages over existing PV technologies.

  2. Funding of initial pilot installations to be provided by the commercialization partner or grant.

  3. Performance data from the installation to improve and understand the technology’s performance under real life conditions.

A commercialization partner in a pilot deployment would have a local or market advantage that is agreed upon with PI Energy, providing them a commercial, limited exclusivity for a certain amount of years in a specific market.

The level of maturity of potential pilot partner opportunities ranges from discussions to signed MOU. Here are a sample of some of the potential initial pilot installations that we are planning:

Each one of the opportunities above is a potential entry into large market segments, so our initial pilot deployment plans would be followed by a partnership with a large fabrication collaboration for larger-scale manufacturing and distribution, so that we can scale to meet a global demand.
